  1. Mia: If I get this... Seb: When you get this... What is the difference in meaning? What point is Seb trying to make?
  2. What do you think is the message (moral, theme) of this movie?
  3. Have you ever broken up with someone that you knew you would love forever? Why did you break up? Do you keep in touch with this person?
  4. In the audition, they ask Mia to tell a story. She tells a story about her aunt living in Paris. If you were in this audition, what story would you tell? Homework: Prepare a two-minute audition story and share it with the class.
  5. Do you know of any movie that was made in the style described in this video? (i.e. no script, build the characters around the actors)
  6. How was this audition different from the other audition experiences that Mia described in [ #10. Seb Finds Mia ]? Mia: I've been to a million auditions, and the same thing happens every time. Or I get interrupted because someone wants to get a sandwich, or I'm crying and they start laughing! Or there's people sitting in the waiting room and they're like me, but prettier and better at the... Because maybe I'm not good enough!
  7. Seb and Mia don't end up together, but they both follow and realize their dreams (becoming a famous actor, owning a jazz club). Is it a happy ending or a sad ending? (Perhaps a bittersweet ending?) Why do you think the director chose to end the movie this way? Do you think this would be a better movie if they ended up together? Why?
